SUSPECT ARRESTED FOR BUSINESS BREAK-IN

On March 19, 2009, at 6:00 a.m., Farmington Public Safety officers responded to the Farmington Bike Shop located at 22856 Orchard Lake Rd, on a reported break-in.  Upon arrival, officers who spoke with the business owner learned that a display window had been smashed out and a childs tricycle stolen.

As a result of recent business break-ins, patrol officers while checking businesses in the area had contact with an intoxicated subject on two different occasions on March 19th.  Therefore, the officers went to the subjects home and gained permission to look for the stolen tricycle.  A tricycle, including sales tags still attached was observed inside a locked garage that matched the description of the stolen tricycle.

A search warrant was obtained and executed at the home by detectives from Farmington Public Safety.  Detectives located and recovered the stolen tricycle which still had shards of glass on it from the broken store window.

The subject, Ricky Joseph Vendramini, age 50 of Farmington Hills was arrested and charged with Breaking and Entering, a 10 year felony along with Receiving and Concealing Stolen Property Less than $200.00, a 93 day misdemeanor.  Magistrate Sawicky of the 47th District Court arraigned Vendramini on the charges and a plea of not guilty was entered.   Vendramini is currently being held at the Oakland County Jail on $10,000.00 bond and is schedule back in court on March 25, 2009.

Detectives do not believe Vendramini is responsible for the three business break-ins on March 4, 2009.  Detectives are still working with area departments to locate and interview a person of interest in those break-ins.
