The monthly Neighborhood Watch report contains a summary of information important to Neighborhood Watch members.
MURDERS
None.
SEXUAL ASSAULTS
None.
ARMED ROBBERY
On September 8th, two elderly residents on Heatherton were followed home and robbed as they entered their house.
On September 16th, an elderly resident was followed home on Marblehead. She knew she was being followed and was able to get into her house and lock the door before the subjects appeared at the back door. The subjects ran back to their vehicle and fled the area.
Farmington detectives have executed numerous search warrants and interviewed numerous suspects for the above robberies. The robberies have currently stopped in Farmington and area communities. The investigation is ongoing.
BURGLARIES
None.
LARCENIES
An electrician working at a business near Nine Mile Road and Farmington reported some items stolen from his vehicle.
An unlocked bicycle was stolen from a backyard on Power Road.
Aluminum gas tank level probes were stolen from the Citgo gas station at Nine Mile Road and Farmington.
A three foot high Uncle Sam statue was stolen on Orchard Lake Road.
VEHICLE THEFTS
A motorcycle was reported stolen at Drakeshire Apartments.
A van was reported stolen from a business near Eight Mile and Farmington Road.
A motorcycle was reported stolen at Chatham Hills Apartments.
Five unattended cell phone thefts occurred at Farmington High School. An IPod was also reported stolen.
VANDALISM
Graffiti spray painting was reported at two locations in the downtown center.
The public safety department identified two teenagers responsible for graffiti vandalism at Flanders Elementary School.
An employee at Drakeshire Dental reported a vehicle was scratched with a key.
MONTHLY CRIME PREVENTION REMINDERS
Do not leave cell phones and IPod's unattended in public places, including Farmington High School where six thefts occurred in September.
The robberies of elderly residents followed home, reminds us of the need to be aware of our surroundings. If you suspect you are being followed, dial 9-1-1 and remain inside of your vehicle. Drive to a public place or police station.
