NEIGHBORHOOD WATCH REPORT

MAY 2008

 

 

The monthly Neighborhood Watch report contains a summary of information important to Neighborhood Watch members.

 

 

ROBBERIES

None.

 

 

HOME INVASIONS

None.

 

 

BUSINESS BURGLARY

On May 30th, a cinder block was thrown through a glass door at the Eight Mile and Farmington Road Valero station.  Detectives have developed a suspect that was captured on video tape stealing petty cash.

 

 

LARCENIES

On May 6th, an eighteen foot flatbed trailer was stolen on Nine Mile Road.

 

On May 9th, an IPod was stolen at Chatham Hills Apartments.  Suspects have been identified.

 

On May 20th, money was reported stolen out of an unattended purse at a Farmington Road business.  Suspects have been identified.

 

On May 24th, the Longacre Woods Subdivision sign was stolen and recovered by the public safety department.

 

Unattended cell phones, jewelry, electronic devices and miscellaneous items were stolen at Farmington High School.  The school liaison detective has determined who was responsible for some of the thefts.

 

 

STOLEN VEHICLE

On May 19th, a 1999 Honda Civic was reported stolen at Farmington Plaza Apartments.

 

 

MONTHLY CRIME PREVENTION REMINDERS

Farmington public safety detectives investigated several identity theft cases during the month and executed search warrants in numerous cities.  Several persons were arrested.  Remember to shred documents.  Whenever possible, limit sharing any of your personal information.  Never fall for the free internet contest awards and provide your personal information.

 

Please continue to report suspicious or unlicensed door to door solicitors.  Several unlicensed solicitors were arrested during May.  Some were wanted on outstanding warrants.

 

Maintain a safe distance when gas grill propane tanks are being filled.  A business employee was injured in a flash fire during May when a safety valve failed on a propane tank.
