NEIGHBORHOOD WATCH REPORT

MARCH 2009

 

 

The monthly Neighborhood Watch report contains a summary of information important to Neighborhood Watch members.

 

 

MURDERS

None.

 

SEXUAL ASSAULTS

None.

 

ROBBERIES

An attempted purse snatching occurred at Harvest Fresh Market.  A suspect was arrested and a warrant was issued.

 

BURGLARIES

-   Business burglaries occurred at Professional Nails, Moys Café and a dental office on Ten Mile.  A suspect has been identified.

 

-  A burglary occurred at the Power Road Marathon station.

 

-  A business burglary occurred at the Farmington Bike Shop.  The public safety department arrested the burglar and recovered the stolen property.

 

-  There were no residential burglaries in March.

 

 

LARCENIES

- Wheels and rims were stolen from a basement storage locker at Chatham Hills Apartments,  

 

- Tools were stolen from an auto lab at Farmington High School.

 

- An IPod was stolen at the $3 Car Wash. The public safety department arrested the responsible person and recovered the stolen IPod.

 

- Five separate thefts of electronic devices (IPods, MP3 player, PSP, wallet, cell phone)   occurred at Farmington High School. The school liaison officer made arrests and/or  cleared three of the five cases.

 

VEHICLE THEFTS

Vehicles were stolen from Rams Horn, Kitchen Creations and Jamestown Apartments.

 

VANDALISM

- The public safety department arrested a group of juveniles responsible for spray painting graffiti at Sammys Pizza.

 

- A parked car at Farmington Oaks Apartments was scratched with a key.

 

- A wall at Salem Church was damaged.

 

CRIME PREVENTION REMINDERS

Please continue to be alert and report suspicious behavior.  Crime reporting led to the arrest of several persons responsible for the crimes listed on the March crime report.

 

NEIGHBORHOOD WATCH NEWS

Thank you to the block captains and residents who packed the City Council chambers on April 9th, for Commander Demers Crime Alert power point presentation.  Director Nebus will be showing a power point presentation of the departments annual report at the May 14th, Neighborhood Watch meeting, 7:00 p.m. at the City Council chambers.

 

CONGRATULATIONS

Commander Demers was named the departments Officer of the Year at the public safety awards banquet on April 15th.
