BURGLARIES
No residential burglaries.
On January 26th, employees at Romarios Coney Island on Orchard Lake Road discovered a smashed cash register when arriving for work at 7:00 a.m.
A snowplow driver discovered a burglary at the JAMs building on Grand River. Farmington public safety detectives have arrested the responsible person.
LARCENIES
Someone threw a brick through a car window at Panera Bread and stole a purse.
A digital camera was reported stolen from an unlocked locker at Farmington High School.
A cell phone was reported stolen at Farmington High School. The phone was recovered from the person who stole it.
VEHICLE THEFTS
None.
VANDALISM
A resident on Hillview Court reported a broken outdoor light.
FIRE PREVENTION REMINDER
Two major fires in Farmington during 2008 were a result of crimped electrical cords. A home and apartment unit were both destroyed by fire as a result of crimped electrical cords. Never pinch, bend, or place heavy objects on electrical cords.
CRIME STATISTICS
Serious Part A crime in Farmington was down three percent (-3%) in 2008. This decrease follows a twelve percent (-12%) decrease in 2007.
Burglaries decreased fifteen percent (-15%) in 2008. The department recorded six (6) fewer burglaries.
