NEIGHBORHOOD WATCH REPORT

FEBRUARY 2009

 

 

The monthly Neighborhood Watch report contains a summary of information important to Neighborhood Watch members.

 

 

MURDERS

None.

 

SEXUAL ASSAULTS

None.

 

ARMED ROBBERY

None.

 

BURGLARIES

On February 24th, a resident on Alta Loma reported a residential break in.  Investigators are following up a lead provided by a resident who reported a tip after viewing the public safety departments email alert.  Computer equipment and jewelry were stolen.

 

LARCENIES

A resident on Oakland Street reported stolen lug nuts and wheel covers.

 

A resident of Chatham Hills Apartments reported tools stolen from a basement storage unit.  Another Chatham Hills apartment resident reported tires and wheels stolen from a storage unit.

 

A hockey bag was stolen out of a vehicle parked at Big Boys.

 

A resident on Hawthorne reported the driveshaft stolen from a pick up truck.

 

Two catalytic converters were stolen from a delivery truck parked on Grand River.

 

The public safety department took six stolen cell phone reports and one stolen IPod report at Farmington High School.

 

 

VEHICLE THEFTS

On February 24th, the Farmington Public Safety Department arrested a seventeen year old youth driving a stolen car.

 

 

VANDALISM

None.

 

 

CRIME PREVENTION REMINDERS

Thefts in February confirm that apartment storage lockers should not be considered secure areas, especially if items can be viewed through a fence, screen or other transparent wall.  Several such thefts are reported every year.
