Learn how to become a Farmington Public Safety Officer

The Farmington Public Safety Department is comprised of:

  • Director of Public Safety
  • 23 full time officers
  • 5 full time dispatchers
  • 7 cross trained public safety reserves 
  • 3 fire reserves
  • 1 records supervisor
  • 1 administrative assistant
  • 1 part time records clerk

All of the officers are trained and fully certified as both Police Officers and Firefighters. Additionally, all officers are trained Medical First Responders.

Service Compliance Program

The Department promotes professional traffic stops, maintains a formal complaint procedure, and shift commanders contact crime victims to assure the delivery of excellent services. The Department also utilizes in-car video cameras to verify professional conduct and recreate a factual record of public contacts.
